The 2017 Annual Meeting of the NAE Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) was held in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. This invitation-only event started with a reception on Monday evening, November 27, 2017. The event took place at the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Avenue, NW, in Washington, DC.
The purpose of the Annual Meetings is to build the GCSP community, engage with all stakeholders, and grow the movement across the US and around the world. One of the key expected outcomes of the meeting is for participants to embrace the vision championed by the NAE for educating the 21st century global engineer and promote it across their institutions. The participants shared best practices from their experiences running Grand Challenges Scholars Programs at their institutions, explored creative ways for students and faculty from different institutions to collaborate, developed strategies for partnerships with industry and aligned groups and for engaging alumni. The meeting catalyzed the global embrace of the Grand Challenges Scholars Program and helped pave the way for broadening and deepening the impact of this visionary program.
We invited all participating institutions to present a poster during the reception on November 27th and throughout the day on November 28th. Click here for more information.
