“I am an alumna of the University of Southern California (USC), where I earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Through the Grand Challenge Scholars Program, I augmented my engineering education with MEMS research, study abroad in France and Australia, volunteer work in El Salvador, and a Cinematic Arts minor. In addition, I helped found FlexSpecs, a social entrepreneurship venture, to bring adjustable vision aids to underserved communities. The skills I acquired through the Grand Challenge Scholars Program have helped me to successfully launch my career, from tackling global supply chain challenges to defining key value propositions for breakthrough products. I have since gone on to work in the Technical Development Program at Edwards Lifesciences, where I am rotating through various engineering roles and sites around the world to develop leading heart valve and critical care technology.”
