The cost of solar energy is dropping.  But how low must it go for it to be widely used around the world? How much more are we willing to pay for a greener energy source?

solar energy is the best energy source among the all sources but the problem is it is costly than the other sources. All the governments should encourage the research and development in this field.we as a young people should protect the earth .

Although currently the investment in a system of this type is still a bit expensive, the development for a better use of solar energy is very important to slowly anyone can have it, even it outside the monopoly of some governments.

It is best energy to use because one day non-renewable resources will run soon and it will be the only one to use so, it must be very low to make it widely grow around the world. It also don't harm our environment, It is friendly environment energy Day by day people are willing to go green and use green energy resource. When we will start living a sustainable life then everybody can live equally and happy ....
STAY CALM and GO GREEN !

I think that solar energy is the way to go because it is 10,000 times more efficient than what we use today.

I would be ready to use solar energy but I do not believe that most of the general populous would be willing to at the expense of a 3-6 times higher cost. Maybe some half traditional half solar system could work to help integrate solar energy into the public norm but.... I don't see it happening in the next ten or fifteen years sadly.

Solar energy has not been one thing that I would do and it would probably have to be pretty afoardable in order for me to be able to use it so I would say about the price of any household item like the price of a game system of flat screen tv.

ABSOLUTELY! I come from a part of the world where there is an abundance of solar rays (Egypt), and the possibilities of making use of this wasted energy and harnassing it are breathtaking to say the least!
The obstacles are steep, but not impossible to overcome: Find better materials to harness the solar energy and turn it into electricity, AND find more efficient ways to store that energy for use at later times (night for example)
I see the possibilities as endless, and believe that the future holds alot of great things for this field of study.

    It depends.

Solar panels can benefit me because it saves me more money and i wont destroy the ozone layer. it can also not benefit us because on cloudy days when the sun isn't out, we will be without power. In the winter, it gets dark outside early.

I am not ready to go solar because I use technology way too much and solar energy would not keep my stuff fully charged. However, the solar energy is more Eco friendly and will help keep the earth a little better.

NO I'm not. I use electricity at night more then i do at day. Also, it would be pitch black in my house at night and on the streets because street lights would be turned off. its way too much loss for me to be ready for this.

I'm am not ready to go solar because through the night i am always on my iPhone, texting, and on my iPod Touch, so I would not really be able to use it at night so, I would need power that comes from more than the sun.
